The family of Pankisi journalists is still threatened

Parents of the journalists from Pankisi, are still receiving threats, even after two brothers left Georgia… The journalist’s mother is still undergoing a rehabilitation course at the hospital.

As is known to mak.ge, a group of people encouraged by local government, visited and warned the parents of Islam and Osman Gorgishvilis, that if their children did not give up on the HPPs, they might get justified according to Blood Law (also Blood Revenge), that considers revenge killing or summary murder.

The family denies to communicate with the media, but as our confidential source told us, the family is intimidated and is not allowed to raise its voice. According to him so-called “The group”, which visited the Gorgishvili family, was not limited only by warnings. After the threats, family members went through severe psychological stress, as a result of which the mother of the journalists was taken to the Neuro Unit at the hospital.

We remind you that this is not the first case of threats against the family of Islam and Osman Gorgishvili. A couple of months ago they were threatened to kill. Journalists also appealed to the police for response and security, but so far the police have not taken any measures on this case. We even contacted them recently, but no police officer make any comment.
